The Position

Group Communications (GC) is responsible for creating a lasting positive image of Roche and representing the company's voice on a Group level. We communicate Roche’s strategy and how we deliver on our purpose of “Doing now what patients need next” to Roche colleagues and external audiences. We drive integrated and global campaigns and provide platforms for communications business partners as well as our affiliates to engage with audiences. We contribute to building trust of key stakeholders, to managing Roche’s brand and reputation, and to building a favorable environment for our business. The Role

The Head of Executive Events Experience is responsible for shaping and delivering high-impact, modern event experiences for employees and senior leaders. This role goes beyond traditional event management, focusing on strategic event design, compelling agenda architecture, and the orchestration of meaningful experiences across face-to-face, hybrid, and digital platforms. You will ensure that all executive and employee events reflect a fresh, innovative, and engaging approach, aligned with organizational priorities and leadership expectations.

The Opportunity

As the Head of Executive Events Experience, you will have the chance to redefine how we engage our global audience through the following key responsibilities:

  • Event Experience Strategy & Design: Define and drive a forward-looking vision for executive and employee event experiences, ensuring they reflect modern, innovative, and engaging design principles.

  • Agenda Architecture: Partner with Communications leads to design high-impact, audience-centric event agendas and translate business priorities into compelling event experiences in service of a shared vision.

  • Executive Engagement: Operate with strong executive presence to advise senior leaders on content delivery, formats, and audience engagement while ensuring a seamless participant experience.

  • Project Leadership: Provide strategic oversight of and operational guidance of the planning and execution of complex event programs, maintaining strong, sophisticated project management discipline and driving alignment across stakeholders and deliverables.

  • Team Development: Lead, develop, and coach a team of communicators, fostering a culture of creativity, excellence, and continuous improvement.

  • Collective Leadership: Crucially, this role requires a leader who actively breaks down silos, partnering openly alongside peers to achieve shared organisational goals.

  • Innovation: Stay ahead of global trends in digital engagement, hybrid and in person formats, introducing new tools and approaches to elevate the impact of every event.

Who You Are

We are looking for an experienced leader who brings a creative edge to communications events. To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Expert Event Designer: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8+ years in a relevant application or event design role, specializing in innovative, audience-centric experiences.

  • Project Management Leadership: Strategic oversight of Executive events, with proven capabilities to build and lead Executive events involving Senior Leaders across the business and communications function along with the ability to coach and elevate the team's capabilities in advanced project management methodologies

  • Strategic Influencer: Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to act as a confident and credible partner to senior leaders.

  • Proven Collaborator: Strong strategic influencing and stakeholder alignment skills, with a track record of managing complex programs, fostering open collaboration and aligning diverse stakeholders in high-pressure environments.

  • Inspiring Leader: A passionate people leader experienced in coaching teams, developing talent, and building capabilities in agenda development and stakeholder management.

  • Bilingual Proficiency: Proficient written and verbal communication in both German and English, capable of navigating complexity while maintaining a focus on quality.
