Mexico City is what happens when a megacity does culture, food, and nomad infrastructure all at once. The Roma Norte / Condesa / Juárez triangle is where most nomads cluster — walkable, leafy, dense with cafés and coworking. World-class food on every block (the taco stands earn the hype), and an absurd density of things to do: museums, concerts, theatres, markets, bars, cultural events you didn't know existed. Safety reads heavily by neighbourhood — in the nomad triangle I've always felt fine walking at night; other parts of the city are a different conversation. One thing to know going in: CDMX absorbed a massive influx of Americans and remote workers post-2020, and Roma/Condesa rents reflect it. Altitude (2,250m) takes about a week to adjust to, then you forget about it. This is still one of my favourite cities on the list. Trade-off: timezone is the real test — CDMX sits 7h behind Zurich, so a Swiss 09:00 call is 02:00 local. Only workable if your role is genuinely async, or if you can flip to a US-hours schedule (CDMX = US Central time, perfect for US clients).
