Methodology & data
Every figure comes from a once-a-day snapshot of Remotli’s board (12:00 UTC), stored since 2 June 2026. “Active roles” are listings live that day; “remote-first” counts roles whose effective policy is fully remote or remote-friendly (hybrid and office-based excluded). Listings are sourced directly from company applicant-tracking systems and archived automatically when they disappear upstream.
On the two daily-flow columns in the CSV: new_jobs_24h and archived_jobs_24h count database rows created and archived, not distinct roles. Before 9 September 2026 a defect re-created a listing that had briefly dropped off its source board, so both columns are inflated for earlier dates — by roughly 2 to 3 times on the “new” side. They are left as captured rather than restated, because a snapshot series that gets rewritten is not a series. Every other column, including active roles, is unaffected. On workload: workload is parsed from the posting’s title and description (“80 to 100%”, “60%”, a four-day week); a role that states no workload is not counted. The three CSV columns workload_parsed, workload_below_100 and four_day_week count the remote-first roles in the default view that state a workload, those open below 100 percent, and those naming a four-day week. They start on 29 September 2026 and are empty on every earlier row, which means not measured, not zero. The share below 100 percent is shown to one decimal, and only once at least 10 roles state a workload. It is counted per role, not per employer, so one employer that states a workload on many postings weighs accordingly. That is deliberate: a workload is a property of the posting, and an employer offering 80 to 100% on twelve postings offers it twelve times. Salary is the opposite case: a salary median would be taken per company, because one employer’s copied band can make up the whole median, and this share is not deduplicated that way.
On salary: we don’t publish salary bands yet — only 5% of listings disclose pay, too few (and too skewed by employers who repeat one band across many roles) to be representative. We’ll add salary breakdowns once disclosure is dense enough to trust.
What the CSV does not contain: the company-level layer — which employer, its remote policy, the evidence behind it, and salary where disclosed. Live listings are readable through the public API under its terms of use; the company-level dataset with history is available under licence. Write to hello@remotli.ch with what you are building.

How many remote jobs do Swiss companies offer?
As of October 2026, Remotli tracks 845 active roles at 180 employers hiring in Switzerland, Swiss and international, of which 398 are remote-first (fully remote or remote-friendly); the board shows the remote-first set by default. The rest are hybrid, workation or office-based roles at the same employers; hybrid and workation roles appear on the city pages, labelled with their work mode. Everything is refreshed daily from company applicant-tracking systems.
Which roles are most in demand at Swiss companies that hire remotely?
As of October 2026, across all work modes at the companies Remotli tracks, the largest functions are Engineering (272 roles), Product (89), and Sales (85). Engineering leads by a wide margin, ahead of product, sales, and data roles. 398 of the 845 roles are remote-first; the split by function is not broken out by work mode.
Where are the jobs at Swiss companies that hire remotely located?
As of October 2026, across all work modes, the cities named most often on listings are Zurich (259 roles), Geneva (70), and Lausanne (42). A further 166 roles are fully location-independent (tagged remote with no city). Remote-first roles often still name an HQ city even when you can work from anywhere.
Do Swiss remote job listings show salary?
Rarely. As of October 2026, only 5% of the 845 listings disclose a salary. Swiss employers seldom publish pay ranges, and the few that do often repeat one band across many roles, so Remotli shows salary only where the company actually disclosed it rather than estimating.
How many Swiss remote roles can be done part-time, below a 100% workload?
As of October 2026, 95% of the 20 remote-first roles on the board that state a workload are open below 100 percent, for example 80 to 100%. The workload is parsed from each posting's title and description; a role that states no workload is not counted, so the share describes the roles that say, not the whole board.
How current is the Swiss Remote Index, and can I reuse the data?
The index is captured once a day (12:00 UTC) and has run daily since 2 June 2026. Every figure comes from that day's snapshot of live listings. The full history is downloadable as a CSV under a Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 licence, so you can reuse it with attribution to Remotli.
