About this role

Position description

The Business Technology team is composed of passionate technologists fully engaged in delivering systems that help our Finance, HR, and Operations teams do their best work. This role sits at the heart of our payroll and financial infrastructure — owning the administration of our global payroll platform (ADP) and ERP (NetSuite), while supporting the data accuracy that underpins our financial planning processes.

You will be the go-to expert ensuring payroll operations run accurately and compliantly across our global entities. You will maintain NetSuite as our reliable financial system of record, and collaborate with the Finance team on the data flows that feed planning and reporting. As Sonar continues to scale, your work will directly improve

What you will do

You are comfortable owning the administration of our core payroll and financial platforms — ADP and NetSuite — for a fast-growing, multi-national organization. You ensure payroll processes are accurate and compliant, keep the ERP running smoothly, and support the data flows our Finance team depends on for planning and reporting.

Payroll Systems Administration (ADP)

  • Own the end-to-end administration and configuration of ADP (Workforce Now preferred), ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing across multiple entities.
  • Manage user access, roles, and governance in ADP; coordinate with HR and Finance on payroll cycles, headcount changes, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Maintain and improve data integrations between ADP and NetSuite — ensuring payroll journal entries, employee records, and cost allocations flow accurately and on schedule.
  • Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies, manage the relationship with ADP support, and coordinate system updates and releases.
  •

    NetSuite ERP Administration

  • Administer and maintain the NetSuite instance: user management, roles and permissions, workflows, saved searches, and module configurations (P2P, Multi-book, Intercompany, and others).
  • Support month-end close activities and ensure NetSuite remains the trusted system of record for financial actuals.
  • Lead change management processes — documenting, testing, and deploying system changes with proper controls and impact assessments.
  • Support IT General Controls (ITGC) and SOX compliance requirements across financial systems.
  •

    Financial Planning & Reporting Support

  • Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure actuals from NetSuite feed into our FP&A tools (e.g., Pigment or equivalent) accurately and on time.
  • Develop a working understanding of FP&A processes — budgeting, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis — to support data validation and ad hoc reporting needs.
  • Contribute to integration and data quality work between NetSuite and financial planning platforms as needs arise.
  • Experience and qualifications

    Experience & Technical Acumen

  • Payroll Administration (Mandatory): 5+ years of hands-on experience administering ADP (Workforce Now preferred), including configuration, payroll processing workflows, compliance, and system integrations.

  • NetSuite Administration (Mandatory): 5+ years of NetSuite administration in a multi-entity or multi-national environment; NetSuite Administrator certification is a plus.

  • Familiarity with FP&A processes (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis) and exposure to at least one FP&A or EPM tool (Pigment, Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, or similar); deep hands-on expertise is not required.

  • Practical experience with data integrations between payroll, HR, and financial systems via API or native connectors.

  • Experience supporting internal controls (ITGC) and SOX compliance across financial systems.

  • Bonus: experience with Carta, FloQast, BambooHR, or Aptitude.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

  • Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong ownership over payroll accuracy and data integrity.
  • Autonomous and pragmatic — comfortable operating in fast-growth environments with ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Clear communicator, effective with Finance, HR, and technical stakeholders alike.
  • Collaborative and knowledge-sharing by nature; values cross-functional delivery.
  • Values "done" over "perfect", while continuously looking for ways to improve processes and deliver measurable impact.
  • Additional comments
